The Lawn Guest House, which carries The English Tourism Council Silver Award with 4 STARS, plus The Sparkling Diamond grade with 4 Diamonds from the RAC, and 4 STARS from the AA, is a Victorian building set in mature gardens, and a totally “non-smoking” establishment.
All rooms are “en-suite”, with bath and/or shower, toilet and wash hand basin together with colour/teletext TV, direct dial telephones, hairdryers, oscillating fans, tea/coffee/chocolate facilities, and full central heating. Other amenities include a guest’s ice machine, a reception lounge, an on-line Internet computer for guests use only, Broadband WiFi connection, and a resident’s ornamental garden.
The Guest House is located 100 yards from the centre of the small town of Horley, and at right angles to the flight path so there is almost no noise from the airport. In Horley, there are restaurants, public houses, banks, shops, and the main line railway station (300 yds) to London (Victoria 40 mins) and the South Coast (Brighton 45 mins).
I do not provide evening meals but each bedroom has a folder containing a list of 15 local restaurants and pubs all within 10 minute walking distance, together with copies of their menus and a map showing their location.
Adrian also provides a FREE Gatwick-The Lawn-Gatwick Airport Transfer Service between 09.00 and 22.00 but this must be arranged in advance. When you have collected your luggage and passed through Customs give him a ring and he will advise you of the meeting point.
Whether you are departing later in the day or just wish for some fresh air following your flight you are most welcome to use our private Residents garden.
