North East is one of Britains most attractive regions, famous for its miles
of beautiful and unspoiled scenery, historic castles and cathedrals and its rich
industrial heritage. Undoubtedly one of the UK's finests areas of outstanding
beauty with wild moorland, quiet dales, quaint fishing villages, seaside towns
and historic sites is The North York Moors National Park.

church after Westminster Abbey. You can find plenty of cultural entertainment,

Newcastle upon Tyne, often shortened to Newcastle, is a vibrant, modern city,
renowned for its nightlife, sports, entertainment and shopping. It is located
in Tyne and Wear situated on the north bank of the River Tyne.
Just over the River Tyne, Newcastle's neighbour Gateshead is home of the
Angel of the North, the Millennium Bridge and the Baltic Centre for Contemporary
Art.
Northumberland, Durham and Yorkshire
were once part of the great Saxon kingdom or Northumbria. As such their history
is one of turbulence and struggles for power. The Pennines are the backbone
of this region stretching from Derbyshire in the North Midlands to the northern
parts of Northumberland. Among them is some of the best walking country in England.
The wild and often wind-swept upland moors reach summits of more than 2,000
ft in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Covering an area of 1762 square kilometres,
the National Park is located in the north of England, and straddles the central
Pennines in the counties of North Yorkshire and Cumbria.
